Indigenous Cultural / Archaeological Project Technical Support - First Nations Projects

BCL has provided a wide range of cultural services to First Nations and Government agencies. We are well aware of the sensitivities surrounding collection and use of cultural information. Maintaining the confidentiality of cultural information is a priority for BCL when engaged in First Nation projects.

BCL has worked on a variety of projects for the Provincial and Federal Government that were based on or incorporating First Nation cultural information.

Description	Compared spatial accuracy of Archaeological sites against the original source of locational information. Adjusted spatial locations and geometry based on this supporting information. Used a number of data sources, including LRDW feature classes. Performed QA checks on updated sites to verify accuracy and consistency of data. Provided supporting documentation for interim results, final results, and methodology.

Training Services

BCL develops training plans, training materials, and delivers training sessions across British Columbia. Audiences range from individuals, to groups, and entire corporate organizations. BCL has partnered with Camosun College of Victoria to produce training programs for Government agencies and First Nations. Through BCL training programs users can receive certification and accreditation from Camosun College.

Profiles of Indigenous Peoples (PIP) - A directory of contacts, community profiles, consultation advice, and consultation area shapes for projects identified in ISP. Agreements, Rights & Title System (ARTS) - A database and web map that links First Nations with associated agreements and established rights. BCL responsibilities on the project included: Project managing the project business team that included 12 members. Coordinating project communications.
